In your role as an International Sales & Business Development Manager for Egypt and North Africa, you take the responsibility of important Hitachi Rail Revenue Collection Systems (RCS) Customers in the area overseeing the development of all our RCS activities (for existing and new customers). You are based in Egypt and understand the transport ecosystem in major Egyptian cities e.g. Cairo and Alexandria. You are a commercially driven and strategically minded International Sales & Business Development Manager who will expand RCS footprint in the mobility, ticketing, and revenue collection ecosystem. Your role focuses on driving international growth across public transport authorities, operators, and mobility service providers by delivering innovative ticketing and fare collection solutions. You will play a key role in our Customer Account Teams, identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and managing high-value customer relationships, while contributing directly to order intake, revenue growth, and cash performance. Your business development actions are targeting mainly ticketing projects (metros/busses/tram...), Parking and road projects (free flow and standard Tolling) You must meet your objectives (order intake and quality of the OI). You will be responsible of prospecting, identifying and qualifying opportunities to build a pipeline over several years. Your prospecting actions will mainly target ticketing opportunities. You will be responsible for meeting the qualitative and quantitative targets set for you. Your main tasks will be to: Developing the Sales Portfolio with existing and new customers in the region for the whole RCS product portfolio Pre-sales activities: promoting the RCS solutions, identifying and qualifying the opportunities Being in full adherence with the internal standard and rules, and with the Bid department support, to produce, deliver, and negotiate RCS offers until contract signature To closely track your opportunity target in close collaboration with your partner network Internal commercial reporting Collect market information (needs, trends, competition, etc.) and share it with the Sales and Marketing Departments. Work in full collaboration with Hitachi SRS Segments and Markets Your Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Sales Growth Drive international sales growth in mobility solutions, including automated fare collection (AFC), account-based ticketing (ABT), and digital payment systems. Identify and develop new business opportunities with transport authorities, operators, integrators, and technology partners. Build and expand a strong network within the mobility ecosystem, including regulators, payment providers, system integrators, and smart city stakeholders. Analyze market trends such as Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), contactless payments, and digital ticketing innovations to position solutions effectively. Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from opportunity creation through contract closure. Sales & Account Management Manage and grow relationships with key accounts, including public transport authorities and major operators. Develop account strategies focused on long-term partnerships, service expansion, and lifecycle revenue. Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs in areas such as fare policy, revenue optimization, and passenger experience. Ensure delivery alignment and customer satisfaction through close coordination with project and delivery teams. Maintain a strong pipeline and ensure accurate forecasting aligned with business targets. Governance & Cross-Functional Collaboration operates according to Hitachi’s governance model, ensuring compliant and high-quality deal execution. Adhere to all governance frameworks, policies, and approval processes across the commercial lifecycle. Organize and lead governance and approval meetings for bids, partnerships, and strategic deals. Collaborate closely with Bid Management, Finance, Legal, Engineering and Procurement to develop competitive, compliant, and financially robust proposals. Ensure that contractual, financial, and risk considerations are fully addressed prior to deal closure. Support structured decision-making and transparency in complex, high-value opportunities. Market Engagement & Industry Presence Represent the company at leading mobility and transport industry events, such as trade shows, business forums, and customer days. Engage with stakeholders at events related to public transport, smart cities, and digital payments. Promote the organization’s capabilities in ticketing, fare collection, and revenue management systems. Leverage events to identify new opportunities, strengthen relationships, gather market intelligence and increase market visibility. Team Collaboration & Performance Delivery Work in close partnership with your Customer Account Team and with all departments to build winning proposals. Demonstrate full ownership and engagement in achieving order intake, revenue, and cash objectives. Contribute to a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on delivering measurable business outcomes. Collaborate with Sales Operation team to update the CRM Collaborate with procurement and finance for proper procurement forecasting Collaborate with the Segment and Regional management for business reviews and progress Continuously improve sales approaches, leveraging insights from the market and internal best practices Your Profile: Graduated from Business or Engineering School You have at least 10 years of experience in a complex environment and on highly critical projects. Have worked with public transport authorities, operators and/or technology partners in Egypt and the countries under your responsibilities. Proven experience in international sales and business development within mobility, transport, fare collection or payment systems Proven track record of won deals and excellent understanding of the business culture in Egypt. You have a good knowledge of the ticketing market (customers, competitors, partners). You have significant experience in build & run ticketing system projects, including system integration, software engineering, infrastructure, networks and security You have proven abilities to negotiate and close deals. Credentials are essential. You have a proven taste for customer contact, and your relational skills are qualities that we attribute to you. You have proven track record in business development and deal closures leading to sales growth. You have proven track record in managing complex bids and captures You have the ability to operate effectively in a matrix and cross-functional environment.
