Responsibilities
  • Support with customs-related inquiries, including customs clearance issues and customs audits (Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA), S&C Customs Broker, Freight Carriers, etc.
  • Act as the primary contact point for any queries regarding customs regulations and traffic management by ensuring compliance with regulations, trade laws and international shipping requirements.
  • Collect Country of Origin documentation from suppliers in the form of Free Trade certificate or Country of Origin certificate for import purposes.
  • Create County of Origin certificates for customer orders in the form of Free Trade certificate or Country of Origin certificate for export purposes.
  • Support in managing S&C Canada’s Harmonized Tariff Code classifications and Country of Origin database for completion and accuracy.
  • Coordinate international shipments with freight forwarders and carriers for outbound customer shipments for importing and exporting goods, including preparing and verifying the accuracy of invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement in customs and logistics operations.
  • Participate in Wood packaging audits as needed - ensure shipping procedures for international wood packaging are being followed.
  • Perform administrative duties including maintaining S&C compliance procedures, record keeping and audit import transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in various duties as needed; including but not limited to packing orders in the ERP system, coordinating domestic shipments, coordinating permits or other special loads etc.
