Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an International Travel Coordinator to work with our Children’s Heart Project (CHP). This position is responsible for the arrangement of beneficiary flight schedules, identification, recruitment, and orientation of transport personnel, oversight of logistical process for accepted patients, field staff training on standardized procedures, and management of logistical emergencies as they occur during beneficiary travel.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
  • Customize international travel and logistical needs for CHP children, accompanying family members, interpreters, and transport personnel.
  • Prepare, organize, and send travel packets with tickets, documents, and orientation materials.
  • Manage and trouble-shoot a wide variety of difficult logistical emergencies and problems for patients enroute, often occurring after-hours.
  • Serve as a liaison to international field offices to obtain flight schedules, visas, transportation, enroute accommodations, and travel documents for children, their accompanying family members, and interpreters.
  • Obtain extended visas and file proper paperwork and documentation with embassies in the USA and Canada whenever needed.
  • Identify, recruit, and orient medical and non-medical transport personnel, and maintain up-to-date database of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit nurses and other appropriate medical/non-medical volunteers for CHP transport.
  • Select appropriate level of transport personnel for each group situation, depending on the medical requirements of the group.
  • Facilitate and deliver travel-related briefings to transport personnel, develop and maintain transport orientation materials, and advise medical volunteers regarding immunizations and malarial prophylaxis.
  • Conduct post-travel interviews with transport personnel and CHP field offices to assess viability of travel arrangements, itineraries, and schedules. Evaluate transport personnel performance.
  • Transport beneficiaries back to country of origin in emergencies and when requested by Director.
  • Visit CHP field offices when requested by Director.
  • Maintain all reimbursement accounts for travel participants.
