Global Partnerships Division Full-time, Fixed-term position through March 2027 Base salary will be in the range $82,133 - $91,295 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5) Based at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity Global Partnerships has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Events Officer or Coordinator to join a high-performing and dynamic team. You will coordinate and deliver official visits to UQ and key onshore engagement events. The position works in collaboration with other units across the University to support UQ’s international partnership efforts by advising on program development and meeting/event format, and coordinating operations, logistics and hospitality services. Manage correspondence with internal and external stakeholders, including high-level diplomatic representatives. Arrange all logistics associated with visits including catering, transport, accommodation, photography/video and audiovisual requirements. Conduct campus tours and accompany delegates during their visit. Maintain accurate records of international visits. Prepare reports on visit and event activities for the Manager, International Visits and Events. Assist with the organisation and delivery of key events for Global Partnerships. Book, negotiate and supervise suppliers and maintain effective working relationships. This is a Full-time, Fixed-term position through to March 2027 at HEW Level 5. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $82,133 - $91,295 plus super of up to 17%. About You A completed undergraduate degree level qualification in marketing, event management, or business administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. Demonstrated experience in event coordination, including management of budgets and income and expenditure, as well as demonstrated organisational and planning skills, including excellent attention to detail and the ability to use initiative. Excellent time management skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritise competing deadlines within tight timeframes while providing exceptional customer service to all levels of stakeholders. Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office with a knowledge of administrative procedures, systems and databases. Excellent communication skills and an interest in communicating and interacting with people from diverse cultures. Experience in dignitary management and application of protocols and etiquette. Willingness to undertake manual tasks including loading and unloading boxes, banners and other items. Whilst this is not a mandatory criteria, you might have additional experience crafting engaging event communications - from web content and invitations to post-event follow-ups—along with strong design skills and confidence using InDesign. If you have the ability to speak a second language, it will help you connect with the diverse audiences that we speak to regularly in this role.
