Internship – Integrated Advisory Team (IAT) Primary Location: Brunssum, The Netherlands NATO Body: Headquarters Joint Force Command (HQ JFC) Brunssum Office: Integrated Advisor Team (IAT) Schedule: Full-time Closing date for applications: 22 April 2026 Stipend: € 1477.30 (2026 rate) per month (taxable) Description: As an intern in the Integrated Advisory Team (IAT) at HQ JFC Brunssum you will be required to provide assistance in improving the HQ Internal Control Framework, based on the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO 2013). About the internship: During this 6-month programme, starting 1 February 2027 until 30 July 2027. You will be expected to contribute to a real-life case to enhance the extant Governance Risk and Controls (GRC) and respective organizational requirements, utilizing effective and efficient stakeholder identification and engagement to improve the Internal Control Framework in a non-financial organizational setting. You will be required to comprehend the process landscape, model and analyse the processes, identify critical activities with respective risks and controls to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of current work strands, the business impact analysis, the business continuity planning and the alignment of strategic and operational processes within JFCBS. The ideal candidate must: For the whole period of the internship be enrolled and studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in the field of Business Administration, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or similar; possess knowledge of international organisations including the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation; be able to effectively plan and organize the working time; possess strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, optimisation and data analysis skills. have the ability to work under pressure; be a good communicator and be able to engage with other subject matter experts within the organisation. In addition, we are looking for candidates having the following desirable skills: strong computer skills (e.g. ECDL) including use of Microsoft Office package; good knowledge of process analysis, process management tools, such as flow charts, risk-control matrices; be dynamic, curious, detail oriented and self-motivated; able to work in a team environment with people from diverse backgrounds; able to challenge assumptions constructively and focus on measurable inputs and outputs. Stipend: You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of € 1477.30 (2026 rates), per month based on 37.5 hours internship work hours per week. We will also compensate you for travel costs to/from university to HQ JFC Brunssum (within set cap rates). Interns will be entitled to 2 days of leave for each full month (of 37.5 hours a week) of internship.
