Internship - Provost Marshal Office (PMO) Primary Location: Brunssum, The Netherlands NATO Body: Headquarters Joint Force Command (HQ JFC) Brunssum Office: Provost Marshal Office (PMO) Schedule: Full-time Closing date for applications: 22 April 2026 Stipend: € 1477.30 (2026 rate) per month (taxable) Description: As an intern in the Provost Marshal Office at HQ JFC Brunssum, you will gain experience in military policing within a NATO operational environment to support the development of a network with law enforcement agencies across Central Europe and assist in building relationships with NGOs and IGOs. About the internship: During this 6-month programme, starting 1 February 2027 until 30 July 2027, you will join the Provost Marshal Office. The PMO is looking for an intern who will contribute to projects related to detention operations, policing in grey zone environments and battlefield evidence, whilst supporting research analysis and drafting of reports and briefings. The intern will also gain insight into multinational cooperation frameworks and the functioning of NATO and JFC Brunssum by gaining practical experience in military police and law enforcement cooperations, exposure to government research methodologies and the development of strong analytical and writing skills. The ideal candidate must: be enrolled and undertake a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in the field of Public Policy, Political Affairs, International Relations, Security Studies or similar; possess knowledge of international organisations including the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation; be able to effectively plan and organize the working time; have the ability to work under pressure. In addition, we are looking for candidates having the following desirable skills: strong computer skills (e.g. ECDL) including use of Microsoft Office package; be dynamic, self-motivated and personable with an ability to work in a team environment with people from diverse backgrounds. Stipend: You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of € 1477.30 (2026 rates), per month based on 37.5 hours internship work hours per week. We will also compensate you for travel costs to/from university to HQ JFC Brunssum (within set cap rates). Interns will be entitled to 2 days of leave for each full month (of 37.5 hours a week) of internship.
