In a nutshell Toyota Motor Europe is seeking a Master student in Engineering to develop real‑time performance analysis tools for driving‑simulator‑based laptime evaluation. You will enhance telemetry visualization, detect key driving events, and support correlation with real‑vehicle behaviour, focusing on vehicle dynamics, controls, and tire performance. Optional tasks include benchmarking driver performance against driver models. The role suits candidates skilled in Python or MATLAB, with interest in AI, data analysis, and vehicle dynamics, and who thrive in a collaborative, multicultural environment. DS team Our mission is to enable early, agile & accurate human-centric evaluation of dynamic performances by driving simulation. Your project You’ll be responsible for expanding our performance analysis tools to better understand vehicle behaviour for laptime purposes. Creating a real-time pipeline for data visualization (telemetry) Event detection and key metrics visualization per sector & event Supporting engineers on correlation with real vehicle and to understand vehicle controls and tire performance Optionally, benchmark driver performance against existing or new driver models Your Profile You are fluent in English (TME’s business language) You are a Master student in Engineering, specializing in AI, Data Science, Systems and Control, or a related field You have demonstrated programming skills in MATLAB or Python, with a focus on data processing and model development You have a strong interest in applying AI and data insights to vehicle performance evaluation Knowledge of motorsports derived tools is an asset You are a team player and have excellent organisation skills Starting date: Between June and September Duration: Up to 6 months Confidentiality Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report.
