Description
Your mission As part of our Systems Engineering team in Munich, Germany, you will contribute to the development and integration of spacecraft systems for an upcoming In-Orbit Refueling Demonstration (IOD) mission. This role provides hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of space systems (design, analysis, optimization, and assembly) while working closely with a multidisciplinary team. The position is planned for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension. We also offer the opportunity to convert the work into a Master’s thesis, with the exact topic tailored to the candidate’s interests and strengths. Your role will include: Assist in system-level design and integration activities for the IOD mission. Contributing to mechanical modeling and structural analysis, using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE. Contribute to fluidic systems design. Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis for spacecraft components. Participate in MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Testing) processes for spacecraft components. Preparing documentation for systems engineering deliverables Your profile Enrolled in a Master’s or advanced Bachelor’s student in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems engineering, or a related field Basic Knowledge of fluidic systems and an interest in valves, fluid couplings, welding, and MAIT processes. Familiarity with space systems engineering, structural and thermal considerations, and space materials is expected. Good to have knowledge of ECSS standards, CAD/PLM tools, propulsion fundamentals, NDT, and space qualification processes. Strong analytical and communication skills Proactive, structured, and able to work independently and in a team Why us? We offer Immediate and flexible start 30 days annual vacation and flexible working hours Potential for a Master’s project and/or full-time employment afterwards EGYM Wellpass and subsidy for the Deutschlandticket Complimentary beverages, company events, and professional development opportunities Application Requirements Contact About us We are deltaVision GmbH – a young, ambitious high-tech company based in Munich, driving the future of in-space mobility and infrastructure. Since our founding in 2022, we have been developing, manufacturing, and qualifying advanced fluid control systems for the aerospace industry and H₂ aviation. Our expertise spans cryogenic and high-pressure propulsion systems as well as next-generation orbital refueling technologies, including couplers and fully integrated refueling systems designed for the harsh environment of space. With our deep knowledge of fluid control for space systems, we are shaping the space economy towards refuelable and reusable spacecraft. We enable longer mission lifetimes, greater operational flexibility, and entirely new architectures for sustainable space operations. What sets us apart? Innovative products enabling next-generation space infrastructure Exceptional cost efficiency through optimized design and manufacturing Rapid development and delivery cycles beyond traditional industry standards We are rethinking spaceflight — enabling a future where spacecraft are not disposable, but reusable, refuelable, and built to operate sustainably in orbit.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, integration, and analysis of spacecraft systems for an In-Orbit Refueling Demonstration mission. Responsibilities include mechanical modeling, fluidic systems design, and participating in manufacturing and testing processes.
