Description
Overview Element has an opportunity for a Materials Testing Intern. In this role, you will work with engineers and technicians to perform daily tasks related to non-metallic and metallic materials testing including sample preparation, test setup, testing, and reporting. This opportunity will give you invaluable on the job experience and exposure to the materials testing field. Salary: $21- 23$/hr DOE Responsibilities • Perform a variety of physical property testing including, but not limited to; tensile, compression, flexural, hardness, thermal conductivity, flammability, water absorption, vapor transmission, color, gloss, adhesion, weld macros, charpy, sample etching, hardness and microhardness, etc.• Prepare and analyze samples for testing, primarily in the non-metallic department with crossover into the metallic department as available• Interpret data, review, and report testing results• Assist testing engineers with tasks as needed Skills / Qualifications • Working toward a Bachelor's or Associate degree in the field of Materials Science or related field• Excellent communication skills• Willingness to learn and participate in testing within a laboratory setting Diversity Statement At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
