What to expect from us Development of new sensor concepts for process analysis in laser material processing Validation and testing of sensor and control concepts on prototype setups and new optical systems Integration of optical and electronic measurement systems in the optics lab Implementation of automated measurement and control algorithms Independent documentation, analysis and evaluation of measurement data; collaboration with the advanced development team using state‑of‑the‑art ultrashort‑pulse lasers What you bring Studies in electrical engineering, control engineering, mechatronics or a comparable field Practical experience in metrology, sensor technology or optics desirable Knowledge of control engineering / control algorithms and data processing Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab, LabVIEW) advantageous Proficient MS Office skills Very good German and English language skills Analytical and conceptual thinking; structured and independent working style What we offer Mandatory internship or voluntary internship (also possible during a gap year between bachelor’s and master’s) Attractive compensation (also for mandatory internships) Flexible working hours (flextime) On‑site or partially remote by arrangement Networking opportunities with other students Subsidized meals in the company restaurant TRUMPF gym and various sports groups Good public transport connections Location: Ditzingen (near Stuttgart) Start: Winter semester 2026/2027 Duration: 6 months Convinced?
