Pre-Doctoral and Post Doctoral Psychology Fellowship Monarch Behavioral Health is pleased to offer a Pre-Doctoral Psychology Fellowship designed to provide advanced clinical training in psychological assessment, diagnostic clarification, and evidence-based treatment planning. This fellowship is ideal for doctoral students / graduates in Clinical or Counseling Psychology seeking high-quality supervised experience in a private practice setting with a strong emphasis on comprehensive evaluations and client-centered care. At Monarch Behavioral Health, we value thoughtful, ethical, and culturally responsive assessment practices. Fellows are trained to approach diagnosis as more than a label, using evaluation to build understanding, guide intervention, and empower clients and families. Training Model and Clinical Experiences The fellowship follows a developmental training model, supporting fellows as they strengthen independence and clinical judgment over the year. Training includes structured supervision, direct observation, collaborative case consultation, and ongoing professional development. Fellows will gain competency in: Diagnostic interviewing and case conceptualization Test administration, scoring, and interpretation Integrated report writing Feedback sessions with clients and families Differential diagnosis and treatment recommendations Ethical decision-making and documentation standards Collaboration with other providers Fellow Responsibilities Interns and fellows typically complete: Psychological evaluations (integrated batteries including cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and personality measures); Clinical intakes and diagnostic interviews; Report writing and feedback sessions Counseling case load tailored to developing niche Participation in consultation meetings and case staffing; Documentation and clinical record maintenance in accordance with professional standards Training in supervision of master level or practicum students Attend Individual supervision (minimum 2 hours/week) with a licensed psychologist Assessment-focused supervision emphasizing test selection, interpretation, and diagnostic formulation Case consultation meetings to enhance clinical reasoning Training in culturally informed and neurodiversity-affirming assessment practices Professional development experiences in private practice ethics, billing considerations, and clinical communication Applicant Qualifications Applicants must: Be enrolled in an accredited doctoral program (or equivalent) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology Have completed foundational coursework in assessment and psychopathology Have prior supervised experience with counseling and psychological testing (preferred but not required depending on training stage) Demonstrate strong writing skills and professionalism Be interested in psychological assessment and diagnostic clarification Be able to commit to the full fellowship year. Practicum students are only considered with the plan of continuing into internship.
