Over the course of this twelve-week paid internship based at the Franksville, WI site (about 20 miles south of Milwaukee), you will gain a firm grasp of our core engineering competencies and a holistic view of our technology-driven solutions that serve our wide range of customers. In this role, you will assist in the development of interface software for high performance, real-time controls and protective relays used for smart grid applications in the electrical power distribution industry. Our engineering teams are passionate about designing products and services that are more efficient, reliable, safe, and sustainable. In this role you will: Implement features to configure, monitor, and update power system intelligent electronic devices, including advanced UX design, IDE development, graphical data representation and display, communication protocols, cybersecurity, and other relay, control and monitoring functions using .NET and C#. Implement designs based on product and interface requirements with guidance from lead software engineers. Work with functional managers, systems engineers, and lead software engineers to distill product/system requirements/use cases to software stories, developing module and system level code, and unit tests. Participate in tasks related to new product development including planning, task/story estimation, programming, unit testing, peer review, integration and release. Participate in the analysis and specification of software subsystems. Implement tests in support of developer testing activities and integration with Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines. Participate in design and code reviews. Actively enrolled in or received a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science at an accredited institution with a graduation date no earlier than December 2026. Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above. Junior or higher standing. Minimum GPA of 3.2 or above. Familiarity with developing UX with Windows Presentation Foundation, XAML, and Workflow. Familiarity with Agile Scrum concepts (or other iterative development methodology). Familiarity with using SDLC management tools in a team environment.
