SHIFT: 7 AM-3:30 PM / 40 HOURS / FULL-TIME LOCATION: EMORY DECATUR HOSPITAL Description JOB DESCRIPTION: JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides leadership for day to day unit operations in interventional radiology supporting vascular and neuro-interventional operations. Communicates patients' and staff needs and responses through appropriate verbal and written methodology. Ensures that patient care assignments are based on patient care requirements and staff competence. Maintains records for service and compliance with internal and external regulatory guidelines. Responsible for completion of orientation, initial and ongoing competency requirements of each staff member. Assists in administrative activities such as budget planning, identifying means of cost containment, coordinating department staffing schedules and ensuring communication regarding areas of concern. Provides and coordinates the resources needed within the department to provide optimal patient outcomes. Assures availability of equipment and supplies for all procedures. Maintains education/competency files on all employees. Facilitates the process of patient/family education efforts by assessing the need for intervention providing staffing coverage, supporting and reinforcing clinical instructions. Serves as a resource for advanced clinical and technical knowledge for all staff. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology with ARRT certification. Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional (VI) Radiography required. Must demonstrate proficiency in neuro-interventional suite within 6 months of employment. Must have a minimum of five (5) years¿ experience with three (3) year in Interventional Radiology. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required.
