UPMC East is currently hiring a casual Interventional Technologist to support our Operating Room Hybrid Endovascular Suite. This role will work various daylight shifts (between the hours of 6:30 am to 5 pm) - Monday thru Friday. Purpose: Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities: Assist with the training of staff and student technologists. Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. Performs all job responsibilities of an IR Tech 1. Demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in supplies and the use of the supplies during procedures. Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. Assist with Fluoro time monitoring, the management of medical editing request, and annual lead apron compliance checks. Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Graduate of an ARRT approved School of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology. Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
