Description About Us: GEO Prep Academy at Baker is a tuition-free, public charter school that serves students in grades K-6. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing an outstanding education for students each day as they transition from elementary to middle school to high school and COLLEGE. Our curriculum and teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge in K-8 and a blended learning model in elementary school through high school. We are a TAP school! REPORTS TO/TERM: Principal and Academic Leadership Team This is a part-time 10-month position not to exceed 25 worked hours per week ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: An Interventionist is required to perform the following duties: Assist with lunchroom/recess monitoring Submit lesson plans weekly by 12 p.m. each Sunday Track standards-based assessment data weekly Set specific, data-driven intervention goals for each intervention group Implement interventions on a quarterly cycle Meet weekly with Lead Interventionist to analyze data and exit tickets Remediate students on specific skills and standards deficits during intervention block Communicate with parents as needed, including BOY welcome letter Attend weekly TAP professional development sessions, as needed Create and execute a small group management plan, mirroring classroom management system Execute school-wide incentives program Plan and execute two annual Title 1 literacy nights Schedule parent meetings during quarterly parent/ teacher conferences as needed DIBELS test all K-2 students, assist with NWEA testing as needed Letter sounds testing/ progress-monitoring Be a part of one school-wide committee Exhibit professional behavior, and set a positive, professional standard in the workplace Attend all required staff meetings and attend designated school functions outside of school hours Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff Perform necessary duties including but not limited to morning, lunch, dismissal, and after-school duties Performs other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the principal Dress professionally and uphold all school policies Requirements Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or higher Strong technical skills, particularly in integrating technology in the classroom to drive academic achievement Experience working in an urban school setting
Responsibilities
The Interventionist Teacher will assist with student monitoring, submit weekly lesson plans, track standards-based assessment data, and implement data-driven interventions on a quarterly cycle. Duties also include meeting weekly with the Lead Interventionist to analyze data and remediating specific student skill deficits.
