POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is for an Intune and Azure Cloud Engineer who is flexible working Hybrod basis at our client premises in Canberra, Australia.
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Intune Endpoint Management and Azure Cloud Operations, specifically in monitoring and backup. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing our endpoint management system, cloud resource monitoring platform, and disaster recovery solutions. You will ensure our infrastructure is performant, highly available, secure, and compliant. The ideal candidate is an expert who bridges the gap between endpoint management and core Azure operational services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of IT operations experience with Intune and Azure Monitor and Azure Backup.
  • Intune: Proficiency with Autopilot, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and integration with Conditional Access.
  • Azure Monitor: Hands-on experience authoring KQL queries, configuring alerts, and building monitoring Workbooks.
  • Azure Backup: Practical experience configuring and managing Azure Backup to protect both Azure and on-premises workloads, including performing restore operations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex, cross-domain problems (e.g., Why did the backup fail? Why was access blocked due to a non-compliant device?).
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Intune for modern unified endpoint management (MDM & MAM) of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Utilize Windows Autopilot for zero-touch, “out-of-box” device deployment.
  • Develop and enforce endpoint compliance policies, integrating with Azure AD Conditional Access to enforce a Zero Trust security model.
  • Design and implement comprehensive monitoring strategies using core components of Azure Monitor (including Log Analytics Workspaces, Application Insights, and Alerts).
  • Configure metric alerts and log alerts, integrating them with Azure Action Groups, ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow), or Microsoft Teams/Email for timely notification.
  • Establish health and performance baselines and set up proactive alerting for key resources like Azure VMs, AKS, and databases.
  • Design, implement, and manage disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup to protect Azure VMs, on-premises servers (using MARS agent), SQL Server, SAP HANA, and file shares.
  • Configure and manage Recovery Services Vaults, define backup policies (frequency, retention), and conduct periodic restore tests to ensure data recoverability.
  • Manage cost optimization and storage configuration related to Azure Backup.
  • Understand and potentially work with Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for workload migration and disaster recovery.
  • Leverage Azure Automation Accounts and Runbooks to automate routine operational, remediation, and reporting tasks.
  • Continuously optimize the cost-effectiveness and performance of monitoring and backup solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
