Description
As an Inventory Accounting Student, you will support the Canadian Inventory team in managing the daily balancing of inventory volumes, the customer billings and accounting of liquid inventory transactions across Irving Oil’s supply chain. You’ll gain exposure to marine terminals, airport fueling operations, fleet locations, and third-party terminals, while learning how inventory flows from our refinery and terminals to our customers. The Canadian Inventory team, part of the Inventory Movements department, ensures the timely and accurate billing and reconciliation of inventory movements across various locations in Canada, including marine terminals, airports, FBOs, fleet fueling sites, and third-party terminals. The team works closely with other inventory teams, pricing team, customer support, and Operations. The team consists of six members and is based out of the Irving Oil Home Office. Responsibilities: Assist with day-to-day inventory transactions and billing activities Support inventory balancing by reconciling terminal locations and validating sales and delivery records Process manual billing for airport locations by reviewing fueling tickets and generating customer invoices Participate in monthly financial close process by preparing month-end journal entries Collaborate with internal teams to ensure inventory data is complete and accurate Your Skills: Good time management and prioritization skills Strong attention to detail Self-motivated; ability to work independently Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment Knowledge of Microsoft Office – particularly Microsoft Excel Your Experience: Currently enrolled in Business Administration with a strong interest in accounting Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school What We Offer: Professional Development – Student focused learning & development sessions, mentorships and networking events Student Benefits – Housing allowance, co-op fee reimbursement and parking allowance for qualifying candidates.
