Description

Are you someone who thrives on digging into data and solving real-world problems at the source? Our manufacturing division is looking for an Inventory Analyst who’s as comfortable building forecasts in Excel as they are walking the floor to investigate discrepancies firsthand. This is a high-impact role that connects finance, production, and purchasing. This role is ideal for someone who wants to be part of the action, not just report on it.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in inventory analysis, cost accounting, or a similar role
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proficient with Excel and ERP systems (MS Dynamics/Business Central a strong asset)
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with inventory valuation and audit support
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As our Inventory Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, aligning system data with physical counts, and building forecasts that drive smarter purchasing decisions. Working closely with operations, finance, and supply chain teams, you’ll be the go-to person for inventory insights, discrepancies, and planning. This position requires someone who can think analytically and act decisively, with equal comfort in spreadsheets and steel toes.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Maintain and reconcile inventory transactions in the general ledger
  • Lead and support physical inventory counts (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies with floor-level follow-through
  • Analyze sales trends, open orders, and production demand to build inventory forecasts
  • Identify excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory and propose mitigation strategies
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools for purchasing and finance visibility
  • Partner with production to verify consumption, scrap, and movement data
  • Ensure consistency in item naming, categorization, and master data across systems
  • Support inventory valuation and month/quarter/year-end close activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align inventory with business needs and timelines
