OVERVIEW

General Mills is seeking a data-driven and detail-oriented Inventory Analyst to join our Hannibal, Missouri manufacturing team. In this highly cross-functional role, you will serve as the primary steward of inventory integrity across our three-site network. This position is ideal for someone with a strong financial mindset, analytical rigor, and a deep understanding of how inventory flows through complex systems including ERP and WMS platforms.
You’ll partner closely with Finance, Logistics, and Operations teams to monitor, analyze, and continuously improve inventory processes from receipt to consumption. Your insights and actions will directly support cost savings, inventory accuracy, audit readiness, and operational efficiency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in inventory control, supply chain, finance, or operations analytics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail with a bias for action and continuous learning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence across matrixed teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Experience with SAP, Blue Yonder, or other inventory/enterprise systems
  • Understanding of material handling processes and warehouse operations
  • Proven success in driving process improvements or cost-savings initiatives
  • Commitment to a minimum of 36 months in the role
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end inventory lifecycle by ensuring accuracy through physical count verification, discrepancy investigation, and root cause analysis, both technically and financially.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert in our inventory management system (Blue Yonder) and ERP (SAP); develop deep working knowledge of data flows, transactions, and integrations.
  • Provide financial oversight for inventory controls, including monthly inventory reporting, variance analysis, and ensuring SOX/audit compliance.
  • Leverage analytical skills to identify trends in inventory adjustments, overuse, or scrap, supporting proactive cost management and process improvement.
  • Partner with Operations, Logistics, and Finance teams to align on inventory best practices and drive cross-functional solutions.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and system optimization.
  • Develop tools, SOPs, and training to promote data visibility, inventory accuracy, and operational consistency.
  • Participate in inventory counts (including off-shifts as needed) to ensure real-time, actionable data.
