Responsibilities

Improving the effectiveness of our Materials Management systems, the Inventory Leader will ensure that processes are aligned with Class “A” MRP II measures and will support delivery and cost performance.

Describe the primary responsibilities of the position in order of importance and identify % of time spent on that responsibility:

  • Develop key performance indicators for the Materials group to achieve organizational goals and ensure factory systems are aligned with Class “A” MRP II processes as defined by Oliver Wight.
  • Develop and manage reports to evaluate inventory accuracy, Master Data accuracy (BOM / Routings), rework and waste levels.
  • Maintain and distribute monthly metrics and performance charts.
  • Develop a high level of understanding of Materials Management and how it fits into a Class A / MRP II environment and how it supports the site’s true efficiency.
  • Provide procedures, direction and support to Material Analysts and Operating team members.
  • Work with our Leaders and Colleagues to develop a site specific Materials Management Strategy.
  • Work with Accounting and Manufacturing to ensure systems are in place that allow for inventory integrity from receipt of goods, internal processing and through to finished goods.
  • Establish Material Handling processes and procedures to maintain accuracy of Master Data (BOM / Routings) and to accurately track ingredient and packaging waste.
  • Manage root cause analysis and identify corrective actions (involving people, procedures and equipment) to achieve World Class Measures for materials issues.
  • Coordinate activities of Analyst and Production Clerks performing adjustments, movements and other inventory tasks.
  • Develop, train and motivate members of the Materials Team so they become capable of running all aspects of the daily business with respect to Materials Management.
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal customers to provide a high level of service to all departments.
  • Provide an awareness of Materials management issues and requirements into the New Item and Product Change Control processes to help build accuracy and quality into the program.
  • Is responsible for ensuring that relevant GMP procedures are understood and adhered to
  • Understands and follows Ewen Manufacturing food safety systems and procedures
  • Is responsible for ensuring that all food safety and quality issues are brought to the immediate attention of the Quality Leader
  • Responsible for an active and effective safety program ensuring compliance to governmental and corporate requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring products are produced in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Work normally requires a low level of physical effort in bending, lifting, and manual dexterity. Computer/telephone use is moderate.

Mental Effort:

  • Work normally requires a moderate level of mental effort in reading, creating written documentation, meeting deadlines, problem solving, handling multiple demands and repetitive tasks, amid constant interruptions and distractions.

Working Conditions
ØWorks in an office and manufacturing environment with varying levels of noise and with requirement to wear company mandated uniform and safety gear such as safety shoes, hair net and lab coat.
