Meet the team: The Global Supply Chain team drives centralized planning, sourcing, delivery and build for all components, parts, modules, CAPEX, services, software, and tools for prototype, engineering builds, and production. We work closely with vehicle hardware, vehicle software, autonomy, robot infrastructure, product teams and a diverse set of suppliers and partners to design, development, manufacture and deploy Glydcars and Glydways systems. About the Role: The Inventory Specialist/Associate will play a critical role in supporting the Hardware and Vehicle Platform teams by managing the procurement, tracking, and distribution of components, parts, and equipment essential to the development and testing of autonomous vehicle systems. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Roles & Responsibilities: Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records for all hardware components, vehicle parts, sensors, and test equipment using inventory management systems (IMS) or ERP platforms Conduct regular cycle counts and physical audits to ensure inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies Monitor stock levels and proactively communicate reorder needs to procurement and operations teams Organize and maintain storage areas, parts rooms, and tool cribs to ensure efficient access and retrieval of materials Track serialized and non-serialized components, ensuring proper labeling, binning, and location assignment Receiving & Shipping Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments of hardware components, sensors (LiDAR, radar, cameras), compute hardware, and vehicle parts Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders (POs) and flag discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages Coordinate outbound shipments to vendors, test sites, or remote teams, ensuring proper packaging and documentation Maintain shipping and receiving logs and ensure timely processing of all inbound and outbound materials Cross-Functional Support Support Hardware and Vehicle Platform teams by fulfilling internal parts requests and kitting components for builds and test campaigns Collaborate with engineers and technicians to understand project timelines and ensure materials are available when needed Assist with procurement activities including generating purchase requests and following up on open POs with vendors Interface with suppliers and vendors to resolve delivery issues, returns, and warranty claims Support end-of-life (EOL) component management and disposition of obsolete or damaged inventory Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate documentation for all inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, returns, and disposals Ensure compliance with company asset management policies and procedures Support audits and reporting requirements by providing accurate inventory data and records Assist in developing and improving inventory processes, SOPs, and workflows Education & Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or parts/materials coordination Experience in an automotive, robotics, aerospace, or hardware-focused environment strongly preferred Technical Skills Proficiency with inventory management systems (SAP, NetSuite, Fishbowl, or similar ERP/IMS platforms) Familiarity with barcode scanning systems and asset tracking tools Basic understanding of hardware components, electronic assemblies, or automotive/vehicle parts Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace Experience with purchase order management and procurement workflows Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs unassisted Comfortable standing, bending, and working in a warehouse or lab environment for extended periods Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification a plus Soft Skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across engineering and operations teams Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting hardware R&D or prototype vehicle builds Familiarity with automotive components, compute hardware, or sensor systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras) Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project tracking tools Knowledge of hazardous materials (HazMat) handling and compliance Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technology environment This is an onsite in Richmond, CA The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California is expected in the range of $100,000-$140,000 USD plus stock options, commensurate with experience.
