POSITION OVERVIEW

An Inventory Assistant is responsible for overseeing the inventory by maintaining the required level of efficiency, safety while managing the movement of materials, and maintaining accurate records for our various Western Region warehouse locations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

  • Must have obtained an Ontario high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years Warehouse and/or Inventory Control experience is an asset.
  • Experience in operating forklift, hand truck and/or other material handling equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application(s) – Outlook, Excel.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and multitask.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this position include, but may not be limited to the following –

  • Perform cycle counts to verify, correct, and adjust inventory using Work Management System(s) and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Complete accurate and consistent data entry and inventory logs for all warehouse stocks.
  • Resolve field technician concern(s) regarding materials and/or escalate as required.
  • Delivery of new inventory and maintaining delivery schedule to various Lakeside satellite warehouse facilities.
  • Assist in preparation and validation of inventory report(s) between physical counts and system records.
  • Process incoming and outgoing shipments to the warehouse, while maintaining proper warehouse safety compliance.
  • Compare received shipments to Lakeside invoices to identify pricing and identification markers on the stock.
  • Daily input of data into Lakeside’s inventory database; Great Plains (GP) Inventory Management System.
  • Validate data in WMS by cross checking the technicians’ records and investigate and resolve any discrepancies while informing technicians’ and management of findings.
  • Using a variety of mobile equipment to move material to prep for and during routine audits.
  • Ensure proper organization and storage of warehouse stock at main and satellite warehousing facilities.
  • Consult with various internal and/or external administrator(s) to complete purchase orders and advise on stock purchases.
