EDUCATION / TRAINING

  • University or College Degree (Business Management or Supply Chain Specialty preferred) preferred or equivalent materials experience required;
  • APICS Designation preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Knowledge of materials processes in a low-volume, complex BOM environment;
  • Thorough knowledge of ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred);
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Ability to focus on complex tasks;
  • Continuous Improvement experience and Lean manufacturing focus.

Preferred:

  • Inventory control experience in a heavy manufacturing environment;
  • Locomotive product knowledge;
  • Six Sigma trained;
  • Work background in low volume highly engineer product environment;
  • Trained in formal problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for the overall inventory accuracy within the facility. Industry standard material control techniques including cycle counting, yearly physical inventory and parts audit prior to production deployment will be used to ensure acceptable levels of inventory accuracy are met at all times. This position will develop and maintain local processes and procedures, as well as adhere to corporate guidance, to ensure ongoing integrity of the inventory control systems.
