POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Business Analyst will provide support to the Planning, Procurement and Operations teams by critically evaluating, processing and analyzing information from multiple sources, to prepare proposals and organize the teams to drive the action plans. The main focus will be on inventory management, forecasting and on-time completion. Inventory management includes identification of opportunities to reduce inventory through such items as cycle time reductions, enhanced vendor scheduling, inventory turn management, and the reduction of obsolete inventory. On-time completion includes identification of bottlenecks, capacity constraints, resource analysis and mitigation plans. Project Management skills are required. Works with Operations to track past due / load hours and performance; prepares weekly reports to present to the Exec team. Assists with the budgetary process and keeps a score of how we are performing to the budget and forecast.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze reports to identify primary opportunities to reduce inventory through changes to scheduling, order quantities, cycle time reductions, stock levels, forecasts, or excess inventory write-down.
  • Meet regularly with Program teams to advise on the use of analysis tools to prioritize items for cycle time or inventory reduction.
  • Establish and maintain robust methods for reporting and forecasting inventory reporting, including but not limited to: exception reporting, purchase forecasting, obsolete inventory, and inventory tracking/forecasting by program.
  • Perform monthly forecasts requested by the Finance team prior to the due dates.
  • Assist in the budgeting of company inventory and cash flows.
  • Lead and coordinate new initiatives from concept through implementation to support further enhancement of supply chain effectiveness.
  • Host divisional rate reviews, inventory as well as planning and resource parameter reviews with the Operations teams and the Executives.
  • Prepare Business Review slide decks.
  • Act as the Corporate Focal point on all matters of inventory.
  • Assist in automating current reports.
