Description
     JOB SUMMARY Reports to the Inventory Control Manager. The Inventory Control Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy through a robust cycle count process, reconciliations, book adjustments, transaction audits and continuous training of users. RESPONSIBILITIES * Conduct regular cycle counts according to Customer and Metro specifications * Operate an order selector and reach truck as necessary to perform job functions * Verifies inventory counts to Red Prairie WMS * Investigate and report reasons for discrepancies and problem areas with regards to reoccurring adjustments, damages, order-pick errors and process issues * Assists in reconciliation of physical inventory counts * Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory. * Works closely with Customer Service to ensure inventory discrepancies are dealt with and advise Inventory Control/Quality Assurance Supervisor of any issues * Monitor inventory trends and recommend process improvement * Report inventory record accuracy by location, case and value, etc. * Prepares reports, some of which are run daily, such as adjustment history, status changes, inventory traces etc. * Create, tally and receive return shipments * Audit outbound shipments for accuracy * Adjust and repackage damaged product as necessary * Analyze pick locations to determine new locations which need to be slotted, or old locations which can be removed * Create and maintain up to date inventory control procedures * Assist where necessary in training team members on inventory SOPs * Assist in special projects as required by the customer * Offers ideas and suggestions to enhance inventory accuracy and process improvements * Perform other tasks as assigned   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Completion of secondary school is preferred * Minimum 2 years’ hands on experience in Inventory Control using a Warehouse Management System, preferably Red Prairie (RP) * Ability to drive an order selector and reach truck are preferred.   SKILLS REQUIRED * Good computer skills (MS Office, Red Prairie)  * Service oriented with strong customer service skills and commitment to quality of work * Good mathematical skills  * Organized and shows strong attention to detail * Problem solving skills with the ability to seek alternative solutions * Ability to adapt to changes quickly, as well as, work under time pressures * Ability to lift 30 pounds * Able to stand throughout the day * Ability to be flexible in daily work assignments  * Ability to develop and maintain relationships with team members * Thorough knowledge and adherence to company policies and procedures * Approachable, positive interpersonal style * Capable of working independently and as part of a team * Must be flexible and willing to work additional hours when required, including changing shift start times, OT and weekend * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
