Description 2nd Shift 4pm - 11pm CST The Inventory Cycle Counter plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's inventory records, which is essential for efficient operations, accurate financial reporting, and superior customer service. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to established procedures, and a commitment to upholding warehouse safety and organizational standards. The core responsibilities of the Inventory Cycle Counter include, but are not limited to: Inventory Accuracy Maintenance: The primary duty is to sustain and improve inventory accuracy by executing regular and systematic cycle counting activities. This involves proactive identification and resolution of inventory discrepancies. Accurate Counting and Verification: Perform precise counts of physical inventory by item number, specific storage location, and correct unit of measure (UOM), utilizing defined counting methods (e.g., blind counts, variance counts, ABC methodology). Verify product identification, lot numbers, and serial numbers as required by inventory control procedures. Data Recording: Accurately report all count data, including any discrepancies found, directly to the ICDS Leadership Adherence to Standard Procedures: Strictly follow all documented standard counting, verification, and discrepancy reconciliation procedures as defined by the ICDS. Utilize and maintain all required counting tools and equipment correctly (e.g., scanners, tablets, mobile carts). Discrepancy Reporting and Escalation: Immediately report all significant or recurring inventory discrepancies, ICDS Leadership team for investigation and root-cause analysis. Assist the ICDS team in the investigation and resolution of variance causes. Workstation Organization and Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work station and assigned counting areas to ensure efficiency and compliance with 6S principles. Properly secure and maintain all company assets, including counting equipment. Support for Major Inventories: Actively participate in and support scheduled full physical inventories (wall-to-wall counts) as assigned, providing accurate data and operational assistance. Safety and Compliance: Follow all company and federal safety guidelines, operating procedures, and warehouse standards (e.g., proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safe operation of material handling equipment if certified, adherence to traffic flow rules). General Support Duties: Perform other related inventory control, distribution, or warehouse support duties as assigned by ICDS Leadership. Requirements Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment, preferably in an inventory control or cycle counting role. Skills: Exceptional mathematical and counting skills with a high degree of accuracy. Proficiency in using handheld scanners/RF devices and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, data entry systems). Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on repetitive tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting discrepancies and interacting with team members. Personal Attributes Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Professional, accountable, and detail-driven. Physical Demands Must be able to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), reach, stoop, and bend for extended periods. Must be able to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions. Equipment: Must be able to operate, or be trained to operate, various material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers) safely, as required by the role.
