Job Details Job Location: Madera, CA Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $17.75 - $21.80 Hourly Job Shift: 1st Shift Description POSITION SUMMARY: Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move various materials and equipment throughout the manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include loading/unloading trailers or railcars, supplying plant operations, and organizing warehouse/yard inventory. A valid driver’s license and prior forklift experience are required. RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents promptly. Support 5S+ standards and continuous improvement efforts. Operate forklift to transport materials to/from various plant operations. Load/unload trailers and inbound shipments of lumber and building materials. Perform shipping/receiving functions using computer-based ERP system. Organize and maintain inventory, exercising FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. Pick material orders using established tools and processes (scales, picklists, etc.). Perform light forklift maintenance, keeping all equipment clean and clutter-free. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Collaborate across departments and shifts to coordinate material flow. Adapt to changing priorities and job assignments. Qualifications Education / Experience: Prior warehouse, manufacturing, or shipping/receiving experience is preferred. Prior forklift operator experience and forklift license required. Working knowledge and experience using small hand tools. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Ability to work well with others. Self-motivated and ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficiency in reading a tape measure. Ability to perform basic computer functions, including inputting and accessing information. Physical Requirements: Position requires walking, standing, sitting, twisting, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, reaching, pulling, and pushing. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Ability to use both hands and feet, arms, and legs. Ability to wear PPE at all times while working. Working in a manufacturing plant with exposure to frequent dust, loud noise, cold and hot temperatures with no climate control in place.
