JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager / Operations Analyst, the Inventory Control Lead is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory management within the warehouse and transportation operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing the Inventory Control Coordinator, implementing best practices to optimize inventory processes, and supporting with admin work as necessary. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inventory Management: Oversee daily inventory activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping and inventory levels. Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner. Receive and process inbound shipments. Operate forklift equipment as required. Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and provide guidance to the Inventory Control Coordinator. Train, mentor, and develop team members to achieve high performance. Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback. Delegate tasks and ensure their timely completion. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and implement best practices. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control. Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations. Collaborate with other departments to address inventory-related issues and improve accuracy. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Prepare and analyze inventory reports, providing insights and recommendations to management. Manage and respond to emails directed to the Inventory Control (IC) team. Provide administrative support as needed. QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or GED preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse or inventory control (IC) work required. 1-3 years of prior leadership experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word preferred. Previous inventory control experience is a plus. Forklift experience is an advantage. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Willingness to work occasional weekend hours. Must be able to pass a background and drug screening for hire and randomly throughout employment. This role requires flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Each employee is assigned a regular start time on their first day, which remains in effect unless the role or schedule changes due to business need. When possible, schedule changes will be communicated at least one week in advance. Employees are expected to stay until all assigned duties are completed.
