Working Title: Inventory Control/Mailroom Specialist Classification: Inventory Control Specialist 1 Position Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control/Mailroom Specialist to manage, track, and maintain accurate records of inventory levels within the Department. This role is responsible for conducting regular inventory audits, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring inventory accuracy to support mailroom operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience working in a mailroom or administrative support setting. This position reports daily from 8:00am-5:00pm in office to 50 West Town Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain and update inventory records in the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS-FIN). Assign inventory numbers and tag all incoming assets and equipment. Conduct physical inventories of equipment and supplies; reconcile with fixed asset ledger. Submit asset transaction forms (additions, deletions, transfers) to the Department of Administrative Services (DAS). Prepare and compile inventory reports and summaries to support operational and compliance needs. Assist with managing storeroom inventory systems and support purchase order processing, including coordination with accounts payable. Make authorized purchases using the state payment card; maintain accurate transaction logs and reconcile with finance staff. Coordinate assignment, inspection, and maintenance of fleet vehicles; maintain detailed vehicle usage and service records. Receive, inspect, verify deliveries; match packing slips to orders and report any discrepancies or damages. Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing equipment and supplies. Transport equipment to and from State Surplus; assist with mail and supply deliveries across departmental divisions. Operate and maintain safety procedures for equipment such as electric dock lifts and envelope folders. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in inventory control. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. Job Skills: Records Management
