What You'll Do The Ohio Department of Health is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist 2 to join the Public Health Laboratory (PHL) team. This position will coordinate, analyze, & control inventory systems. This position will also oversee incoming & outgoing supplies, equipment, and samples for the PHL. Additional duties may include: Maintain database of records that have been moved to State of Ohio record retention center. Instruct & assist laboratory staff in developing documents for cycle counts & par levels for time sensitive reagents. Perform cycle counts & develop reorder points for supplies common to all laboratory sections. Maintain adequate levels of all common supplies. Coordinate with State Salvage to dispose of obsolete equipment & documents disposal in equipment inventory database. Prepare inventory reports. 9 mos. exp. as Inventory Control Specialist, 64551. OR 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations. OR Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. *Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria: Associate's or advanced degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business or Public Administration, or Operations Management Experience using an inventory management system and database management system (e.g., Warehouse Management System, Excel, Access) Experience with inbound and outbound inventory shipments Experience in the order fulfillment lifecycle which includes order creation, processing, picking, quality assurance inspection, and shipping logistics Experience communicating with internal and external customers (e.g., team members, internal stakeholders, vendors, peers) Experience in supply chain operations for an office including inventory tracking, replenishment, and purchase order processing Experience in records management workflow (e.g., records maintenance and archival, secure data decommissioning) Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., powered and non-powered pallet jacks, carts) Experience implementing and enforcing policies and procedures on salvage disposal All eligible applications shall be reviewed considering the following criteria: qualifications, experience, education, and active disciplinary record.
