Description Position Description The Inventory Control Specialist and Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for organizing inventory spaces and conducting daily and weekly cycle counts to ensure accuracy. They report on materials used and needed, addressing discrepancies promptly. This role also oversees the Shipping department, managing employees who confirm and record shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Additionally, the specialist manages the transport of materials between departments, ensuring safe and timely movement. Responsibilities: Inventory: Perform daily cycle counts of raw material and hardware. Analyzes and reports on KPIs (key process indicators). Facilitate NCRs. Update material location and count in MIE Trak. Provide feedback on inventory used and needed to the purchasing and planning team in a timely manner. Communicate in real-time about material on hand and possible corrections. Responsible for tracking, loading, and staging materials at different locations throughout the Fabrication Shop. Responsible for EOY audit. Perform work accurately and thoroughly; accept responsibility and account for own actions. Plan and acquire additional resources such as personnel, tools, equipment, etc. Reduce inventory levels to align with lean standards Monitor equipment for maintenance needs and follow through to service completion. Consults with Engineering and Planning, on BOM (bill of material) routing configurations to improve manufacturing efficiency 50% floor work, and 50% office work. Shipping & Receiving: Consult with Logistics to obtain BOL (bill of lading) and shipping documents. Receive materials, and supervise direct reports as they receive materials. Responsible for training team on assigned areas, skills, development plans, and company policy. Plans with the supply chain to ensure all materials are delivered on time and in full to the work centers. Works with Human Resources to select, interview, and hire personnel and brings personnel issues to HR’s attention. Validate and sign off for timesheets in Replicon or contract labor service companies. 50% floor work, and 50% office work. Understand and follow verbal and written directions. Maintain the 7S method in the department. Obeying all company, OSHA, and other state and federal agencies’ safety regulations. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements: Ability to work in a team environment as a self-motivated, collaborative team player, with minimal supervision. Adherence to all company and warehouse safety standards and policies. Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week. Must be able to operate a forklift. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide proficiently. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required. 2-5 years of experience with inventory processes and procedures. 2-5 years, shipping and receiving experience. Knowledge and skill with MRP systems, preference for MIE Trak. Previous forklift experience. Work Environment/Physical Demands: Manufacturing environment with intermittent noise and long periods of standing in a warehouse-type physical space, with exposure to noise and dust in hot and cold climates. Ability to lift to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, twist, and kneel. Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).
