JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Specialist reports to Parts/Purchasing Supervisor. Primary responsibilities of this position are to manage the receiving, storage, and disbursement of all maintenance materials.

Qualifications: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with basic math skills. Must have high attention to details, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and able to work as part of a team. Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Minimum of 1 year experience as Inventory Control Specialists or similar position preferably within the maintenance/property management industry.

  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs for entering data including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of WASP Inventory Control is preferred.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic with the ability to complete work on time with consistent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills

Physical requirements The employee may be required to perform work while sitting, standing, bending and walking. Ability to lift a minimum of sixty (60) pounds and in good physical condition.

Responsibilities
  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt. Unload packages from incoming trucks. Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged. Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.) Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified. Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements. Ensure all Items are labeled and dated and stored according to FIFO. Backroom organization and management.
  • Update inventory software with inventory changes.
  • Evaluating and reporting of inventory surplus, product returns, transfers and any damages. Maintain accurate records and inventory control & notify supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Partner with warehouse department supervisors to ensure necessary items are in stock.
  • Ensure storage areas are monitored throughout the day for cleanliness, meeting all safety requirements. Distribution of inventory to technicians.
  • Assist with answering telephones, direct calls, and take messages, operate office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, etc.
