Description Position: Inventory Control Specialist - USA Parkway Area Location: Reno Facility Reports To: Inbound Warehouse Supervisor Bi-Annual Bonuses / Paid Weekly Job Summary: Utilizes analytical and problem-solving skills to support maintaining a high degree of inventory accuracy. Primary Responsibilities: Effectively utilizes the WMS system to perform all daily, monthly, quarterly Cycle Counting/Stocktaking responsibilities are completed to include the following: Outline and execute annual cycle count plan ensuring that each location in the facility gets counted at minimum one time per year and all valuation and audit requirements are achieved Large discrepancies in dollars or quantities are fully vetted and reviewed/approved by appropriate leadership prior to adjustments being completed in LFS Performs appropriate research and analysis of inventory discrepancies, found ad hoc, through credits research, and through cycle counting process Provide relevant and timely information to internal and external stakeholders (associates, supervisors, customer service, carriers, other departments, etc.) Validate inventory discrepancies prior to short picking orders and missing picked inventory while appropriately handling of the discrepant/missing inventory to ensure smooth workflow and systemic invoicing Utilizes analytical and problem-solving skills to support maintaining a high degree of inventory accuracy Lead research and corrective action for mixed bins, mislabeled product, receiving errors etc. to ensure these are properly addressed and communicated Performs Quality Assurance checks on product issues as directed by corporate quality team and reports back findings and corrective actions status Utilizes data and understanding of the picking strategy to effectively profile/slot all items in the facility Slots new items effectively to support the efficient flow of work and quality standards (similar parts not slotted next to each other) Reprofiles/moves items based on changes in workflow design, customer order patterns, and inventory turn to support efficient picking operations Acts as a cross functional subject matter expert within the facility with detailed knowledge of each department’s workflows and interdependencies enabling effective error handling, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement idea generation Effectively utilizes required equipment to perform various job functions – Crane, Forklift, Dock Stocker, Reach truck, 2 level order picker, Scissor lift, RF scanner, Pick-to-voice system, WMS terminal, stretch wrapper pallet scale, utility knife, bander, etc. Willingness to be flexible and grow in supporting the needs of various departments throughout the day Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment at all times Actively support and follow established safety policies and procedures, including reporting safety and security issues to leadership. Other duties as assigned. Represent self and Schluter Systems in a professional and positive manner at all times. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities In-depth knowledge and understanding with a strong capacity to quickly learn and utilize business software and equipment (i.e., WMS, ERP, Touch Screen computers, RF scanners, Pick-to-voice headsets, conveyors, horizontal stretch wrappers, printers, manual pallet jack, etc.) Willingness and demonstrated capability of driving various electric or propane material handling equipment with appropriate certification (i.e., order selector, forklift, reach truck, walkie rider) Earned a high school diploma or equivalent Demonstrated prior experience in a distribution environment with a general understanding of warehouse operations/procedures Possesses strong communication skills with the capability to fluently read, write and speak the English language Willingness and capability of working in a team-oriented environment focused on delivering a superior internal and external customer experience Willingness and capability to lift up to 80 lbs. occasionally Willingness and capability of performing basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) accurately and efficiently Willingness and capability to follow defined work instructions and offer improvements to such while also adhering to company policies/procedures (i.e., OSHA requirements, attendance policy, etc.) Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening process Willingness and capability to work in an ambient temperature environment Ability to stand and walk for entire duration of shift Good attendance is required Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years’ experience handling inventory in a warehouse distribution environment The duties and responsibilities described in the above job description is not a comprehensive list, additional job duties may be assigned to the employee and/or the scope of the job may change to meet business needs.
