Description

Position will report to the Inventory Control Assistant Manager. Supervise IC teams across multiple facilities, as assigned on 1st shift to ensure all email communication, de-picks, recalls, and other IC department processes are followed and as indicated below: Assist warehouse operations as required. Communicate transitional information from night shift to day shift. Supervise the daily activities of the inventory control staff. Ensures adequate levels of material and/or product inventories are maintained. Responsible for evaluating inventory needs and implementing strategies to meet those needs. Manage any staff assigned to shift including employee performance reviews and any disciplinary actions. Responsible for the supervision of all computer entry work and all paperwork flow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Supervising and leading a team of Leads, material handlers, admin clerks, and inventory clerks * Delegating work and responsibilities to subordinates * Overseeing all inventory accounts and records. Across multi-site locations for all 1st shift IC staff. * Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time. * Compiling inventory reports for review and analysis. * Use of motorized equipment including: Order Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-Up Reach Truck * Ensuring the timely packaging, receiving, procurement, shipping, and invoicing of stock and material. * Evaluating and scheduling shifts for inventory personnel at current facility and assist 1st shift supervisors with any scheduling needs. * Performing and supervising timely inventory audits. * Ensure compliance to inventory processes and procedures, as well as contractual obligations. * Analyzing stock inventory and researching issues per client requests. Additional Responsibilities: * Involved in training of Inventory Control Clerks and Leads, as well as Inbound personnel. * Efficient time-management skills * Helps maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by bringing up incorrect practices to the necessary leadership * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Proficient computer skills, including data entry, are necessary. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills representing the ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop associates. * Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. * Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. * Core values must align with those of RJW with an emphasis on safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. * Orientated towards process improvement and have a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment where a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude is required. * Must be versatile and detail-orientated, demonstrating effectual problem-solving skills. Qualifications: * Minimum 3+ years of previous warehouse supervisory/managerial experience. * Minimum 2-4 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment. * Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift. * Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse and TMW software preferred). * PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database. * Knowledge of DOT Regulations and Requirements Education and/or Experience Required: * High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency. * Some college preferred. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to read and write emails. * Forklift certification a plus. Language Skills Sets: * Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action. Computer Skills: * To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports. Physical Demands: * Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. * Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl. * Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons. * Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others. * Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion. * Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk. * Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required. * Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time. * Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision. * Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones. * Must hear speech out of both ears in the normal range of 30 db. at 500 to 2000 Hz range. * Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances. * The preceding statements are illustrative of the functions of the job and RJW retains the right to modify or change the duties or essential functions of the job at any time.
