Job Overview
This position is responsible for management of the cycle counting program, physical inventories and controls, compliance and reporting of inventory. This position will direct daily cycle counts, report monthly accuracy reports to management, maintain inventory policies and procedures, lead excess and obsolete inventory reduction efforts and provide insights to management supporting inventory reduction.

A Day In The Life

  • Manage cycle counters and daily counts
  • Reconciliation of count variances noted between the perpetual and actual count records; this will include but not be limited to determining the root causes of deviations
  • Correct stock count discrepancies within the system
  • Maintain and publish cycle count accuracy reporting to stakeholders and management team
  • Track and report location audits and zero bin
  • Perform weekly control counts on materials to help determine root cause analysis of discrepancies
  • Coordinate and follow up on efforts to define, set and maintain system parameters including the addition of codes for inactive and zero on hand items, set ABC classification codes, and enter count frequencies
  • Identify improvements necessary for the successful sustainment of the cycle counting program
  • Maintain procedures and determined roles and responsibilities that will result in continued compliance with Hubbell policies and procedures
  • Perform audits of 3rd party vendors holding Hubbell stock
  • Main point of contact for internal audit cycle count recertifications (every 3 years) and other audit requests
  • Management of the excess and obsolete inventory including calculation per policy
  • Lead monthly inventory reduction team meetings
  • Manage the Fenton Quarterly shipping & receiving cutoff audits (SOX compliance)
  • Manage the Fenton Blocked Inventory Review (SOX Compliance)
  • Coordinate the forecast of inventory (monthly)
  • Manage the internal scrap process including approvals, disposal and reconciliation
  • Manage annual Fenton, Juarez and Bell & McCoy physical inventory counts (non-cycle count parts)
  • Lead transition to Fenton full cycle count certification
  • Travel to Juarez, Mexico site as required

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university
  • 5-10 years hands on experience in a warehouse distribution environment to perform cycle counts and variance analysis is a plus
  • Experience (Intermediate to Advanced) with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in an ERP system (Experience with SAP and/or multiple areas of a system is a plus)
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Physical agility to stand, walk and lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate the picker machine and carousel
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Data entry skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of general business principles and practices
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently
  • Good written communication skills sufficient to prepare reports, correspondence, etc.
