Our client — a growing custom injection molding company — is seeking a driven, detail-oriented professional to lead inventory operations across the organization. POSITION OVERVIEW
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all inventory transactions and developing systems and training programs that promote accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness across all departments. You will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and accounting to ensure seamless inventory flow and effective logistics management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and training in inventory control programs across departments.
- Create and implement companywide inbound and outbound logistics processes.
- Develop internal reporting tools to communicate inventory accuracy.
- Analyze and correct systemic inventory issues using root cause analysis.
- Manage monthly cost reconciliations in partnership with accounting.
- Execute cycle counts and fiscal year-end inventory.
- Optimize inventory storage based on lead times, purchasing strategies, and sales trends.
- Collaborate with quality to manage inventory held for inspection or reclassification.
- Support negotiations of stocking levels with vendors to optimize lead times and pricing.
- Develop efficient staging and organizational practices for inventory accuracy.
- Oversee domestic and international freight negotiation to improve cost-efficiency and lead times.
- Ensure timely, accurate shipping documentation and compliance with import/export requirements.
- Monitor vendor delivery performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Continuously improving shipping and receiving processes to prevent errors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Technical, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 5+ years in manufacturing, inventory management, or related business operations.
- Prior experience defining and improving business processes.
- Strong background in team training and process improvement.
- Experience in injection molding is a plus.
- Familiarity with time-sensitive environments and meeting strict deliverables.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Working knowledge of IQMS or similar ERP systems (preferred).
- Crystal Reports experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others effectively.
- Patient, thorough, and persistent when training and leading others.
- Comfortable proposing process improvements even when not immediately implemented.
