We’re looking for an Inventory Cycle Counter who can keep our inventory accurate, our ERP clean, and our production running smoothly. If “close enough” makes you uncomfortable, you’ll fit right in. Requirements SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through systematic, timely, and consistent cycle counting. This role ensures inventory accuracy within the ERP system by performing physical counts, investigating variances, and executing required inventory transactions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts according to the established schedule. Ensure cycle counts are completed accurately, consistently, and on time without exception. Verify physical inventory against ERP system records and investigate discrepancies. Identify, document, and escalate inventory variances beyond acceptable thresholds. Support annual and periodic physical inventory counts. SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED: Execute inventory transactions in the ERP system, including but not limited to: Inventory adjustments and corrections Material transfers between locations or work centers Receipts and issues of materials Scrap, rework, and disposition transactions Cycle count postings and approvals per procedure Ensure all inventory transactions are accurate, timely, and properly documented. Review transaction history and audit trails to identify errors or irregularities. Work closely with Production, Quality, and Shipping to resolve inventory discrepancies. Validate inventory locations, part numbers, lot/serial numbers, and labeling accuracy. Ensure materials are properly identified, stored, and organized according to company standards. Assist in maintaining accurate bills of material, routings, and inventory master data as needed. Maintain accurate records of cycle counts, adjustments, and investigations. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, quality standards, and audit requirements. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring discrepancies. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction Organize, clean, and maintain area tools, and equipment daily (5S) Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers Notify management or EHS of all injuries, illnesses, and near-misses as soon as possible Willingly performs other duties as trained and able SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not Applicable EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Must possess a verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED) Must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in inventory control and/or cycle counting in a manufacturing environment Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Plex, etc.) preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, & REGISTRATIONS: OSHA Forklift certification preferred QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS: Must have: Ability to work independently; to make good, sound, and timely decisions & exercise proper judgment and discretion Ability to understand, track, organize, and successfully complete multiple tasks and projects Ability to effectively communicate and interact diplomatically with employees, customers, and associates Ability to handle and process information in a timely and confidential manner Ability to sustain high energy and enthusiasm with the appropriate level of urgency as needed Ability to read, interpret, and understand all drawings, routers, and process specifications Ability to meet production and quality performance metrics regularly and consistently Ability to learn and accurately use company computer software programs as related to role Ability to work independently while making good, sound, and timely decisions Ability to receive and understand training by various methods: i.e., oral, written, on-the-job, computer-based, etc. Ability to utilize 5S practices (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) Proficient writing and speaking skills with ability to communicate professionally, objectively, and effectively Sufficient ability to read, write, and speak in English and be understood; able to follow instructions Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to be able to read and view paperwork, printouts, screens, etc. Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate equipment as related to fulfilling assigned duties Ability to uphold and comply with the company Mission, Safety and Quality Policies PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job Must be able to sit/stand continuously on a daily basis Must be able to twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine operation of equipment Physical activity: Sitting, walking, standing, typing, holding, grasping, etc. approximately 80% of time Bending, reaching outwards and above shoulders, and lifting twenty pounds unassisted approximately 45% of time WORK ENVIRONMENT: Job activities are generally performed in a lighted, temperature-controlled, and well-ventilated factory environment.
