Description

Outdoor Sports Center is a family-run outdoor retail store serving Wilton and surrounding communities since 1966. We’re passionate about the outdoors and committed to keeping our inventory accurate, organized, and ready for our customers. We’re hiring an Inventory Manager to manage merchandise flow, maintain stock records, and support our growing e-commerce operation.

Reports To: Store Manager
Location: On-site – Wilton, CT
The Inventory Manager is responsible for receiving, stocking, and tracking merchandise across the business. This includes coordinating daily deliveries, unpacking and labeling products, performing cycle counts and adjustments, and working with buyers to ensure orders are correct. The role also supports our e-commerce team by helping pack and ship customer web orders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Organized, detail oriented, and reliable team player
  • Comfortable with physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods)
  • Strong computer skills; NetSuite, ShipStation, and Shopify experience a plus
  • Passion for outdoor sports or familiarity with related equipment

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and offload parcel and freight deliveries
  • Receive, unpack, label, and back-stock merchandise throughout the building
  • Work with buyers on large orders, special customer orders, and resolving shipment errors
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts and make adjustments in system records
  • Ship vendor returns and coordinate outbound shipments
  • Work with the e-commerce team to verify and pack web orders for shipping using ShipStation

Required Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience in receiving, inventory, or warehouse operations
  • Competence with email, spreadsheets, and business software (ERP/NetSuite a plus)
  • Familiarity with shipping and e-commerce platforms (ShipStation, Shopify a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in routine tasks
  • Ability to communicate clearly with buyers, managers, and team members
