Description

The Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels across all departments, minimizing losses from shrinkage, expiry, and damage — particularly in perishable categories — and ensuring accurate, well-documented inventory records. The role also oversees goods receiving, storage, and the warehouse team, working closely with the purchase function to keep replenishment and aging stock under control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage stock levels across all departments, ensuring adequate availability while avoiding overstocking and excess holding costs.
  • Control shrinkage, expiry, and damage, with particular focus on perishable categories, through proactive monitoring and corrective action.
  • Conduct physical stock counts and cycle counts on a regular schedule, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare inventory reports to support loss control initiatives and P&L visibility for management review.
  • Coordinate replenishment requirements with the purchase team, including regular updates on aging stock to minimize write-offs.
  • Oversee goods receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation, quality checks, and timely put-away.
  • Oversee storage and warehouse operations, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), space utilization, and safety standards.
  • Oversee and manage the warehouse team, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and day-to-day supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4–5 years' experience in hypermarket/FMCG inventory management, ideally within a multi-category retail or supermarket environment.
