Job Title: Inventory Manager / Sourcing Specialist
Location: Austin, TX (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (8/28/2025 – 2/27/2026)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience supporting R&D, product development, or engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of data centers, networking, virtualization, and server hardware.
  • Proficiency with Linux (command line & scripting).
  • Experience in hardware troubleshooting, port mapping, RAID levels, and cabling standards.
  • Familiarity with web server and database installation (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Inventory Manager / Sourcing Specialist to support product development initiatives by managing sourcing activities, procurement operations, and lab infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of procurement expertise (hardware, software, and engineering services) along with technical knowledge of data center operations, Linux, and server infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sourcing & Procurement
  • Manage sourcing activities for servers, GPUs, engineering services, software tools, and lab infrastructure.
  • Execute sourcing strategies for IT categories, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
  • Analyze vendor data, contracts, pricing structures, and total spend.
  • Support RFP/RFQ processes and vendor onboarding.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support lab builds and procurement timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with supply chain best practices (CPSM, CSCP certifications preferred).
  • Technical / Data Center Support
  • Rack, build, cable, configure, and provision Intel and AMD servers.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment.
  • Perform OS installations (Windows Server, Linux, Unix).
  • Support virtualization, GPU/CPU infrastructure, and Linux scripting.
  • Handle hardware quality assurance, troubleshooting, and ticket resolution.
  • Assist with asset management and lab administration (including GitLab ticket handling).
