Plans and coordinates all aspects of the shipping department.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work under stressful conditions. Ability to work irregular hours. All Applicants Must be able to pass drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position’s essential functionsinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Completes Inventory Processing (IP’s) for production orders.
  • Assist Shipping with Pulling material certifications from system as needed.
  • Assist Shipping with Creating BOL’s.
  • Assist Shipping with scanning of completed orders and BOL into system.
  • Assist Shipping with all logistical details for all outbound domestic and international export shipments done by outside carriers and Freight Forwarders
  • Obtains quotes and selects vendors for freight and freight forwarding services.
  • Coordinates with Internal and External contacts on shipments.
  • Investigates and resolves customers issues pertaining to shipping or paperwork.
  • Examines, prepares and administers documents such as invoices, bills of lading, shipping statements and any export documents.
  • Ensures accuracy and integrity of shipments and packaging to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Maintains compliance with ITAR and other governmental regulations.
  • Shipping material by parcel packages (FedEx and UPS)
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
