QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

This is a position is the point of contact for inventory and procurement for 5 warehouses across Canada. Managing inventory levels and process across all business lines with a focus to increase inventory productivity while meeting all service level expectations. Inventory is a mix of packaged goods and bulk tank storage.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee inventory activities across all business lines (bulk products, packaged)ordering, order tracking
  • Create and monitor KPIs – service level, in stock, turns - to balance stock levels and minimize stock outs
  • Work with sales team to forecast sales and ensure ordering lines up with expected sales volume
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for replenishment of inventory
  • Make storage recommendations to ensure storage capacity lines up with product demand
  • Ensure proper data management and oversight, to allow system ordering and automation
  • Regular item list review to ensure any decline / increase in sales is reflected in forecast
  • Monitor dead / dormant stock to ensure product does not age beyond useful life
  • File reports about lost, missing or damaged items
  • Track purchases (rail and road deliveries) to ensure timely receipt, matching purchase order and receipt of correct order
  • Perform records management functions associated with inventory tracking, re-ordering and budget tracking
  • Determine the most efficient purchases based on availability and cost
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory in ERP system (SAP)
  • Managing inventory values by warehouse, ensuring cost controls are maintained
  • Building/maintaining relationships with all vendors, leveraging spend where possible to achieve combination of cost and service objectives
  • Negotiating transportation pricing across all Blue Water footprints for inbound/outbound shipments
  • Perform other related duties as required
