Role Statement This role is accountable for optimizing inventory procurement to align with TAL's operational objectives, promotional strategies, and evolving customer demands. The position drives end-to-end inventory availability by ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective sourcing, while fostering strong vendor partnerships and enabling store teams to execute seamlessly. Replenishers are integral to TAL’s supply chain resilience, playing a pivotal role in minimizing out-of-stocks (“outs”) and maximizing product availability—directly supporting customer satisfaction, sales performance, and overall store efficiency. Outcomes for Success Strategic Procurement & Inventory Optimization Exercise end-to-end ownership of inventory sourcing by autonomously forecasting demand, analyzing promotional plans, and placing high-impact purchase orders with approved vendors. Leverage Epicor BisTrack tools and data analytics to proactively maintain optimal stock levels, balancing customer demand with inventory turnover goals. Ensure purchase orders are executed with precision—accurately reflecting quantities, costs, delivery schedules, and promotional programming terms to support strategic sales initiatives. Monitor and mitigate out-of-stock (“outs”) risk by analyzing demand trends, supplier lead times, and historical fill rates, driving continuous availability across key product categories. Conduct regular pricing reviews and margin analyses to maintain competitiveness and protect profitability, contributing to dynamic pricing strategies. Integrate market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive benchmarking to inform procurement and pricing decisions that directly impact revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Vendor Communication & Supplier Performance Management Build and sustain effective, trust-based relationships with vendor partners to ensure supply chain consistency and alignment with business goals. Independently manage the order lifecycle—confirming orders, resolving discrepancies, and escalating issues as needed to maintain fulfillment standards. Store Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a key liaison between replenishment and store operations—providing timely, data-driven updates and resolving inventory inquiries to enable in-store execution and customer satisfaction. Proactively communicate critical supply chain updates (e.g., ETAs, delivery delays, substitutions) to store teams, enabling agile decision-making across the business. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including BIS, to ensure product and vendor data integrity supports seamless replenishment workflows. Purchase Order Integrity & System Governance Own the integrity of purchase order execution—ensuring all records reflect real-time accuracy across assigned product categories. Maintain up-to-date lead times, cost changes, and delivery schedules in Epicor to support reliable forecasting and reporting. Lead issue resolution for product or pricing discrepancies by coordinating with vendors, and support teams, minimizing disruptions to store operations. May perform other duties as assigned. Proficient with ERP systems (Epicor BisTrack a plus) and Excel for forecasting and order management. Strong decision-making skills with the ability to manage procurement independently. Clear, professional communicator with vendors and internal teams. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Lumber buying experience required. Physical Requirements Office and field-based with travel to stores, vendors, and industry events. Periodic store walks, vendor meetings, and cross-department collaboration. Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. May move and shift product in our stores to help ensure cleanliness, organization, and consistency with Plan-O-Grams. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds seldomly. Sedentary work involves sitting, using a computer, and phone to conduct work. Wages Starting wages will be based on years of experience and education.
