Description Location: Wayne Auto Salvage 1911 Hwy 117 South, Goldsboro, NC 27530 Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm Position Overview This specialist position is to inventory salvageable parts accurately and efficiently on vehicles using designated technology. The inventory specialist may be responsible for bringing the vehicles into or around the yard using heavy equipment, conducting a thorough inspection of each vehicle, and identifying and recording all salvageable parts. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with automotive parts. This role plays a crucial role in the organization's mission because it provides customers with high-quality parts that are affordable and environmentally sustainable. Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Inventory Identify the vehicles that need to be inventoried and load them into the designated area for inspection. This task may also include other processes within the inventory system to prepare the vehicle for inventory as determined by the site. Inspects each part of the vehicle, assesses, and describes the condition, selects the appropriate part type, and takes pictures of each part to be inventoried. Maintain inventory and records. Meet or exceed monthly quotas as set by the Site Manager. Operate equipment to move and transport vehicles and/or heavy parts. 2. Quality Control Accurately inventorying and cataloging salvageable parts improves product accuracy and enhances customer satisfaction. 3. Safety Adhere to safety regulations, environmental regulations, and company policies while performing duties. Ensuring all equipment is properly inspected and following proper lifting and handling techniques to prevent injuries. Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) Reports any issues to their supervisor. 4. Perform Other Duties as Assigned Requirements Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED is required. 1 year of automotive mechanic experience preferred. Forklift Certificate preferred. Ability to operate heavy equipment. Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment. Must be able to work collaboratively across functions. Share expertise with others. Must be a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and schedules related to essential functions described above. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Occasionally move about a salvage yard. Ability to lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance. Expected Work Hours – 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday or as designated by the site. Ability to work occasional overtime as needed as determined by the employee’s supervisor.
