GENERAL SUMMARY

The Inventory Specialist plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory levels of green coffee beans, packaging supplies, and finished coffee products. This position is responsible for tracking inventory movement, conducting regular counts, supporting production needs, and ensuring materials are stored and handled properly in accordance with food safety guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
· High school diploma or GED required; additional training or certification in inventory or logistics is a plus.
· 2+ years of experience in inventory control in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
· Forklift certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

· Basic computer skills and experience with inventory software or ERP systems.
· Understanding of inventory control principles, including FIFO/FEFO and cycle counting.
· Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially in food or beverage production.
· Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Fishbowl).
· Knowledge of warehouse safety, sanitation standards, and GMP compliance.
· Awareness of food traceability and quality assurance procedures.

SKILL IN:

· Strong attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking and documentation.
· Proficiency with basic computer systems, including Excel or inventory software.
· Skilled in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
· Effective verbal and written communication for reporting discrepancies and coordinating with production.
· Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple inventory tasks.

Responsibilities

1. Track and monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate stock levels are maintained.
2. Accurately receive, label, and store incoming materials, including raw coffee, packaging, and supplies.
3. Perform daily inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies in the inventory management system.
4. Track movement of inventory between storage areas, production floor, and shipping zones.
5. Accurately record transactions within the ERP system relating to the production cycle.
6. Assist in staging raw materials for production and tracking work-in-progress inventory.
7. Monitor stock levels and communicate low inventory alerts to purchasing or production teams.
8. Ensure FIFO/FEFO inventory practices are followed and products are clearly labeled and traceable.
9. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
10. Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled inventory areas according to GMP and food safety standards.
11. Participate in cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory audits.
12. Follow all company policies including safety, sanitation, and quality assurance procedures.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
