JOB SUMMARY:

The Inventory Specialist role ensures accurate physical inventory management while also supporting the cleanup and ongoing accuracy of our inventory database (Microsoft Access). The position requires coordination across shipping/receiving, purchasing, production, and database administration to ensure that inventory information is reliable and that production lines are always supported.
Reporting to Production Manager or Director of Operations, you will be working in an entrepreneurial family run manufacturer business of tracked utility vehicles for the power utility, forestry, mining, and defense sectors and you will play a key role in contributing to the success of our company

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or production support (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with both physical stock and system data.
  • Ability to work independently, while effectively coordinating across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with ERP or database systems (Access experience is an asset).
  • Solid communication skills in English mandatory.
  • Forklift certification as an asset.
  • Physical ability to handle inventory (lifting up to ~50 lbs).
Responsibilities
  • Place incoming parts into designated warehouse and production locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical counts; reconcile discrepancies with the Access database.
  • Assist with cleaning and validating inventory data in the Access database, ensuring part numbers, descriptions, and bin locations are accurate.
  • Provide timely inventory reports and stock-level updates to purchasing and production.
  • Refill production lines from primary storage locations, ensuring continuous supply.
  • Support the project of labeling production lines and storage areas to improve traceability and efficiency.
  • Work closely with shipping/receiving to ensure smooth flow of goods into and out of inventory.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and database administration to identify and resolve issues in real time.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations, labeling standards, and system processes.
  • Uphold health & safety procedures within the warehouse and production areas.
