POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Inventory / Stores Manager for large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing inventory and store operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of materials, and maintaining stock accuracy. The role requires a strong background in managing stores for construction projects, particularly in the Middle East & Africa, with experience in LNG, LPG, and container terminal projects being highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the inventory and stores functions for large construction projects.
  • Ensure accurate stock control and proper documentation of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Plan and implement inventory control procedures and protocols for the smooth running of store operations.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels and report discrepancies in quantities or materials.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials, adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Supervise a team of storekeepers and ensure that all staff is well-trained in inventory management practices.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with project management teams to ensure that project requirements are met on time.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and vendors for procurement and timely delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on stock levels, materials received, and consumption.
  • Handle discrepancies, returns, and stock adjustments as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline with a Post Graduate Diploma (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field).
  • 5-15 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on inventory and store management in construction projects.
  • Previous experience in managing stores for large-scale construction projects in the Middle East & Africa, especially in LNG/LPG/container terminal projects, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement, and supply chain operations.
  • Ability to manage large inventories, including hazardous materials, with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
