Inventory / Supply Planner – Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute inventory and supply plans to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets and monitor inventory investments to align with financial and commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planners, Category Managers, and cross-functional teams to balance demand forecasts with supply capabilities.
  • Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing inventory insights, supply recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Analyze sales trends, inventory performance, stock cover, and replenishment requirements to optimize product availability.
  • Monitor inventory health through KPIs such as stock turns, fill rate, aging inventory, excess stock, and out-of-stock performance.
  • Generate purchase and replenishment plans based on forecasted demand, lead times, and supplier performance.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and proactively implement mitigation plans to avoid stock shortages or overstock situations.
  • Work closely with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely product availability and efficient inventory movement.
  • Support new product launches, seasonal planning, and promotional activities through accurate inventory planning.
  • Prepare regular planning reports, dashboards, and business reviews for management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management, forecasting accuracy, and planning processes.
  • Ensure data integrity within ERP and planning systems while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve supply issues and improve service levels.
  • Contribute to achieving inventory, service level, and working capital targets through effective planning and analytical decision-making.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in inventory planning, supply planning, merchandise planning, or replenishment planning within retail, distribution, or consumer goods.
  • Experience handling categories such as Electronics, Consumer Electronics, Toys, Accessories, Home Appliances, Lifestyle Products, or General Merchandise is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of S&OP, Open-to-Buy (OTB), demand planning, inventory optimization, replenishment planning, and supply chain planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.), and planning tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across commercial and supply chain teams.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in inventory or supply planning is preferred.
