PAY $18.01 - $27.92 Hourly The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy. POSITION DESIGNATION This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. JOB SUMMARY This posting will be used to fill a current vacancy in the Financial Services Division of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City. An eligibility list will be established or supplemented for filling future vacancies per provisions of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Collective Bargaining Agreement. The purpose of this position is to perform manual and clerical work of a responsible nature in the requisition, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, ordering, and minor repair of a variety of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment. An employee of this classification performs work of a specialized nature, involving skills which can normally be acquired on the job. The worker may occasionally function independently in a substation isolated geographically from a central warehouse facility, but usually works under the direction of an immediate supervisor. Essential job functions include: receiving, monitoring and distributing general or specialized materials, tools, merchandise, equipment and supplies according to established procedures; maintaining and organizing inventory; placing orders with vendors; monitoring and rotating critical stock, such as medicines, fuels, chemicals, and/or other date-sensitive materials, to ensure availability, quality and safety; performing routine research and verifying the accuracy of invoices; and ensuring the security of supplies, equipment or materials. Other duties include: maintaining logs and completing routine forms; delivering parts, tools, apparatus, equipment and/or supplies; running errands related to department operations; receiving and transmitting information and/or instructions via department two-way radio; operating specialized equipment and/or vehicles; and maintaining the storerooms, warehouses, and yards in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Work is reviewed through periodic inspections of work site by the supervisor, ensuring the inventory has been adequately documented and facilities properly maintained. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Static strength enough to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Explosive strength enough to lift and throw objects such as bags of sand, boxes of supplies and various other equipment such as tires, chairs, etc., into a truck or onto a platform as required in most divisions. Extent flexibility enough to bend, twist, and reach out to perform duties such as loading and unloading supplies and equipment. Balance enough to stand on a ladder to perform duties such as stocking or retrieving supplies and equipment located above ground level. Manual dexterity enough to perform duties such as operating a 10-key calculator or typing on a computer terminal. Near vision enough to perform duties such as reading written communication and far vision enough to perform duties such as locating supplies and equipment in the warehouse. Speech and hearing enough to communicate in person, by two-way radio, and by telephone.
