Integrity Empathy Collaboration Growth Purpose About the Opportunity We are seeking an Investigative Legal Assistant to support litigation and pre-litigation teams with skip tracing, public records research, and FOIA requests. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable performing investigative research to locate individuals, obtain records, and support case development. You will play a key role in ensuring attorneys and legal teams have accurate, timely information to move cases forward. Key Responsibilities Skip Tracing: Locate individuals using public records, databases, and online research tools FOIA & Public Records Requests: Prepare, submit, and track FOIA and other public records requests with federal, state, and local agencies Investigative Research: Conduct background research, asset searches, address and employment verification, and entity research Database Research: Utilize investigative databases (LexisNexis, Westlaw, Accurint, TLO, CLEAR, or similar) Documentation: Maintain organized records of searches, findings, and supporting documentation Case Support: Assist attorneys and paralegals with investigative findings and case preparation Calendar & Tracking: Track deadlines for records requests and follow-ups Quality Control: Review results for accuracy and completeness before delivery to legal teams Communication: Coordinate with agencies, vendors, and internal teams regarding requests and findings Requirements Required Qualifications 2–5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Support Specialist, or Investigations Assistant Hands-on experience with skip tracing and public records (US county websites) / FOIA requests Strong research and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines simultaneously Comfortable working independently once trained Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience in litigation or pre-litigation environments Experience with investigative databases (LexisNexis, Westlaw, Accurint, TLO, CLEAR, etc.) Familiarity with civil procedure or case management systems
